Valmistatud u 1932–1934 Saksamaal, Dresdenis. Aparaati sobib
120mm rullfilm, formaat on 6x9.
Väga lihtne ja primitiivne kaamera, valikus on kaks säriaega
ja üks ava. Ka fookus on fikseeritud, tuleb vaid leida see õige kaugus, mil
kõik saab selguse. Pilti saab nii horisontaalset kui vertikaalset.
Üldiselt on väga vähe informatsioon just selle kaamera kohta
leida.

Made in
Germany, Dresden, about 1930s. Takes 120-film, 6x9.
Very simple
and primitive camera, there is no more than 2 different shutter speed and one aperture.
Focus is fixed, to get a sharp image, you just have to find the right distance
between the camera and the object.
There isn't
much information about that particular camera. So, after reading and
translating one manual I found, I cleaned the box inside out and put a film in
it.
Balda
Rollbox seems big, robust and heavy. Instead it is a thin metal box and empty. It's light and small. So light that my hand
started shaking if I focused too long.
I do must
practice my framing with it. Of course I can always claim that I left the
church of Pöide in Pisa's position for purpose and I let the janitor in
Orissaare to slide with pleasure. But still - it would be a nice thing to set the
horizon straight for a start :)

I really like the photos! I also found an old Balda Doppelobjektiv box from my Grandfather. Id really like to try it out but I have no idea where to get film rolls for it. Where did you get them from?
ReplyDeleteThank you! These are my first with Balda Rollbox. It is so simple camera, that.. it is too simple :)
ReplyDeleteIt takes 120 rollfilm, I use mostly Ilford or Fomapan. You can order them from Internet. eBay or one place is http://macodirect.de/ .
I buy them here, from a local shop.
